He didn’t come with packages or bows.
What he had to offer was of no worldly value.
Yet, Christ’s supernal gift which he offered as he walked the dusty roads of Galilee and extends to us today is one of infinite worth.
“O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?”
-Jeremiah 14:8 (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints King James Bible)
Hope of Israel
Since before the foundation of the world, Christ was chosen to be the Savior of the world.
Generations since the grand beginning declared His mission and testified of His divinity.
Generations waited and hoped for the glorious day that He would come.
And come He did!
Not in clouds of glory or with an army at His heels, but as a small innocent baby, pure and clean from the realms above.
Pure and clean He remained as he walked the dust choked paths of the ancients, through out his earthly life culminating at Calvary.
He was the hope of the ages.
Prophets and righteous individuals were granted glimpses of His glorious earthly mission, causing them to sing with the angelic choirs above.
In a world that turns its face to the light, may we never forget what happened one glorious night.
When the God of the universe condescended from His glorious throne above to take on the form of a weak and helpless baby, all so that you and I can live again with Him, to rule and reign with Him forever.
